South Khe Sanh Region
December 12th, 1967
Central Command has confirmed that American Marines are being sent to a key strategic area straddling the border between Vietnam and Laos, located south of Keh Sanh. The unit has been tasked to search and destroy Viet Cong irregulars utilizing the river system and the surrounding valleys to amass weapons, ammunition, and other materials for a possible offensive in the region. In addition to their search and destroy efforts, Central Command has begun surging troops and additional firepower into critical FOB locations along the border in an effort to maintain regional stability.
Primary Objective 1 - Secure the route from Khe Sanh SF Base to Lang Vei SF Camp in preparation for a resupply and reinforcement convoy. Accompany the convoy through the region to insure its arrival at the Lang Vei SF Camp.
Primary Objective 2 - Search and destroy Viet Cong caches and troop concentrations in the southern Khe Sanh region.
Primary Objective 3 - Patrol the region and maintain the defense of the Lang Vei SF Camp until relieved by Command.
